unbelievable

Scotts port is still bleeding so they are running coagulation tests to see if perhaps the thinner needs reducing a little.
But get this ... a blood sugar test came back SKY HIGH and he is being given insulin. I have been asked about diabetes in our family, which we have plenty of, and was told that Scott will almost definately go the same way, but not for many years hopefully.
The high blood sugar is caused by TPN and steroids but for most kids there wouldnt be such a reaction, only for those predisposed, I think thats what they said anyway.
Its early and we wont be going anywhere today and Scott and me are fed up already.
Im going to watch the news and see if a meteor is heading towards St Josephs Childrens Hospital, I suspect there is.

Scott, Stephanie, David and Derry,
Thanks so much for Scott's blog address - I have spent the last hour reading it! This is what I do on my days off?? LOL
Scott - hang in there - I know it is crappy and it is really awful. I wish there was some magic thing I could say or do to make it better but there isn't. It all takes time - and while it seems like it is a forever long time - look how far you have come already - all of you. Just keep holding on to each other - and when you feel like you can't hold on anymore--we will hold on to you and help in any way we possibly can.

See you soon (I am at work tomorrow!) xxoo - Teresa

ps> David: "Go Hokies!!"

Unbelievable!
Bummer, bummer, bummer. I am thinking of you all and so are all of your family and friends near and far. Please keep hanging in there like the amazing family you are, and if you can't, let us help you any way we can so you can get through this too. My prayers are for Scott to be home with his family soon. I'm so sorry there is anything stopping you from bringing your boy home. I'll check back later. Take care everyone. Sending Hugs, Angel Laura

It is truly unbelievable.

You have faced so much already. I know you all can handle this, I just wish with all my heart that you didn't have to.

I don't know, sunshine. Maybe when you get Scott well and back to his old self again you ought to bring your crisis management expertise to DC and teach them a thing or two about getting things done.

Lots of love to you all.

We are so sorry about this .
It really is UNBELIEVABLE.
Every time things look some better there is a set back.
Hopely things will look better and have a brighter day tomorrow.
And as Stephine's Mum said we as David's Mom & Dad. Would like to thank everyone for all that you have done for them. And all the thoughts and prayers.
LOVE TO ALL OF YOU

YEP - It's unbelievable. But maybe we shouldn't be surprised. As David's Mum says every time you overcome one challenge you're faced with another one.
I remember David writing about how tough Scott is. That none of these conditions will beat him and they don't know who they are up against. I'm sure this is just a temporary blip and Scott will bash it on the head just like he's done with everything else. He's obviously one very strong kid!
Praying that you have a much better weekend and are home VERY SOON! "Come on Lord - Give them all a break. Enough PLEASE".
With love,
Dawn.
